EVENT OVERVIEW

The Wynwood Yard’s entrepreneurial spirit soars this January as it spotlights Miami’s youngest and brightest minds at its inspiring Young Entrepreneurs Day at The Yard with the generous support of presenting sponsor, the Knight Foundation

Modern School of Music and Young Musicians Unite, fuel up with eats from the food concepts at The Yard and sip on soft drinks, lemonade or libations from The Bar at The Yard.

Visit pop-up booths by Huzienga Business Innovation Academy at Nova Southeastern University and other local businesses and organizations to learn about their products and services, cast your vote for the young entrepreneur you feel has the most compelling pitch during the Young Entrepreneurs Pitch portion of the day, helping them land cash prizes up to $1,500 to take their business to the next level!

Last, but not least, meet and mingle with veteran Young Entrepreneur Day kidpeneurs and new budding business leaders including Zoe Terry, 12, founder of non-profit organization, Zoe's Dolls; Brothers Brandon and Sebastian Martinez, 12 and 10 years old respectively, of Are You Kidding, aka AYKSocks; Food and beverage budding business-owner Miriam Jackson of Miriam's Lemonade Stand serving up her own blend of refreshing “lemonade with a twist you can’t miss”; 14 year-old kidpreneur, Zahriel Dormeus of Z-Ah-Mazing Bowtique, designer of beautifully-crafted bow ties for kids, adults and even pets; Rustica Desserts, a sweet family affair by sisters, Luci and Bae, that whip up Brazilian confection brigadeiros and its crunchy version, palha; Immokalee High School student group, Taste of Immokalee, who will promote their social enterprise dedicated to combating hunger in their community with proceeds from delicious products inspired by the abundance of fresh produce they produce and sell.

Tickets are $5 and children under 10 are free

*Please note, this nominal entrance fee is to support the partcipating young entrepreneurs and to help cover costs to produce the event. It is not intended in any way to hinder anyone's ability to attend the event or create hardship. We have a handful of sponsored tickets available to students or families who are not able to pay the $5 per person entry fee. YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS PITCH

Participating young entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to pitch their creative business concepts to a panel of visionary businesses leaders during the event with the chance to land cash prizes with both the Judge’s Pick Award and People’s Choice Award. WHO SHOULD APPLY

Know of a budding entrepreneur who should be at Young Entrepreneurs Day? The Wynwood Yard continues to search for youngsters who have successfully launched businesses, preferably with websites, Etsy pages, or other business resources, as well as kids who are using their talents to raise funds and/or awareness for good causes.

Youngsters with unique business ideas who would like to pitch their idea to judges for a chance to win a cash prize are also welcome to apply. Applications are being accepted now through January 21st at http://bit.ly/youngentrepreneurapp
