Gilbert and Sullivan's most popular and beloved show since its premiere in 1879, The Pirates of Penzance, is a rollickling, funny story of a band of soft-hearted pirates. Young Frederic was mistakenly appenticed to a pirate (instead of a pilot) by his nursemaid Ruth and is now twenty-one and chooses to abandon his profession and "lead a blameless life henceforth", and feels he has no choice but to devote himself to their extermination. Once upon the shore, Frederic stumbles across a group of beautiful maidens. He immediately falls in love with Mabel, and she with Frederic. What Frederic has forgotten, however, is that there are pirates about! Suddenly his old comrades are upon them!
